Effective March 1, 2022, the Florida Construction Industry Licensing Board entered into a reciprocity agreement with the North Carolina Licensing Board for General Contractors, allowing our currently licensed Florida Certified General Contractors (CGCs), Certified Building Contractors (CBCs), and Certified Residential Contractors (CRCs) an easier path to obtain licensure in North Carolina provided certain other requirements are met. For more information, contact the North Carolina Licensing Board for General Contractors.
Additionally, effective August 1, 2022, another reciprocity agreement was entered into with the Mississippi State Board of Contractors, allowing Florida CGCs, CBCs, and CRCs an easier path to obtain licensure in Mississippi provided certain other requirements are met. For additional information, contact the Mississippi State Board of Contractors.
We understand the pride that comes with being a licensed professional, and these two agreements, in addition to the agreement signed with Louisiana in 2021, demonstrate a continued effort by the Florida CILB and DBPR to ensure that our licensed contractors are not only able to pursue opportunities all over the country, but also to share their knowledge and skills with a wider group of people. The Florida CILB and DBPR will continue to pursue similar agreements with other states over the coming years, so be sure to monitor the Board’s webpage for new developments.
